The High Growth Handbook

For this reason, BHP produced the High Growth Handbook. It acts as a sister publication to BERR’s No Nonsense Guide to Government Rules and Regulations, which West Yorkshire Ventures already used. The publication was also produced by BHP.

Shelf life

West Yorkshire Ventures wanted to create an ‘adviser on the shelf’ in the form of a handbook. “The idea was clients could turn to it when they had a problem or needed specialist advice,” remembers manager Anne Salisbury.

"Working with BHP was the most logical choice given that it was responsible for the No-Nonsense Guide, which is an excellent publication.

I explained my objectives and within four months BHP had created a fantastic resource: The High-Growth Handbook. BHP really understood our needs and created a highly effective solution, with little demand on our time.”

Critically acclaimed

Since launch, a large quantity of the handbooks has been distributed throughout the West Yorkshire region, and, as Anne reveals, they have received rave reviews.

“The reason the handbook has been so well received by firms in this region is it’s packed with reliable information as well as advice from local business people who have faced similar problems as our readers. There is also advice from people who are experts in the high-growth business sector.”

One such business is Leeds-based system integration software specialist Luminary Solutions. Company director Neil Warnock says: “The High Growth Handbook made us consider a few things we were not addressing. I've never come across such an easily digestible book that has such breadth.”

Anne concludes: “We’re delighted with the handbook and the service we received from BHP. The publication reflects the high quality of the support we offer to our customers.”
